E3 overhauls AN Digital websites

Bristol digital design consultancy E3 is redesigning the ‘This Is’ portfolio of regional information websites. The sites are owned by the Daily Mail via its subsidiary, Associated Northcliffe Digital.

AN Digital appointed E3 to overhaul the 40 websites last week. A source reveals that up to eight London-based design and digital groups participated in the unpaid, ‘arduous’ pitching process, including DNA. The source claimed that the budget is in the ‘high six figures’.

The job, which E3 managing director Mike Bennett says will take six months to a year, involves extensive user research. Users will test ideas under observation to create ‘an entirely user-centred design’.

AN Digital managing editor Robert Hardie says E3 is now its ‘long-term digital partner’.
