Nevis picks top designer

Edinburgh consultancy Nevis Design Consultants has appointed former Hookson creative director David Huckell to the new post of design director.

Huckell will work alongside creative director Graham Scott.

He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the consultancy’s five-strong team of designers, as well as steering creative work.

Huckell leaves Hookson after six years to take on this more hands-on creative role.

A brand overhaul for Scottish solicitor Morisons LLP and a digital communications project for Web portal Citylets are among the projects that Huckell will tackle over the coming months.

Hookson has appointed Malcolm Thompson, who has previously worked at advertising agency Leith and branding groups Navy Blue and Tayburn, as its new creative director. He will take up his role next week.

Founder Bryan Hook says that the consultancy is taking ‘a more integrated approach’ to its work with long-standing clients such as Wedgwood and The Scottish Ambulance Service.
