Walk tries out Push concept

Independent shoe store Walk is set to unveil a retail concept, designed by Push Design, for its four London shops.

The brand, which sells ranges of shoes, accessories, sunglasses and jewellery, currently has stores in Covent Garden, Knightsbridge and Oxford Street.

The Oxford Street flagship, which will spread over three adjacent sites, will be refitted with the new design in early November.

Push Design director Nick Blyth explains that the consultancy won the business in July, without a pitch.

‘Walk is looking for a design that will unify the various ranges and pull together the products and retail elements within the stores. It is looking for something lively – the word “nightclub” has come up,’ Blyth says.

‘There are also some technical issues to overcome, such as the fact that they can’t hold a lot of stock at the back, so there needs to be clear access in and out of the back,’ he adds.

Push Design is currently putting the finishing touches to the concept with Walk, and will start work on final designs next week.
