HOK Sport up for buyout

Architect and design consultancy HOK Sport Venue Event is at the centre of a management buyout from parent company HOK Group.

The buyout is being spearheaded by senior principal of HOK Sport Venue Event Rod Sheard and a number of other executives.

HOK Sport Venue Event, which is involved in the design of the London Olympic stadium, has operated under HOK Sports Facilities, a division of HOK Group, for 25 years.

When the deal is complete at the end of the year, the name of the company is expected to change, although a spokesperson says it will continue to work as HOK Sport Venue Event over the coming months. The move will create an independent company.

The consultancy’s interiors, graphics and branding projects are not thought to be affected by the change.

A HOK Sport Venue Event spokeswoman says it will be ‘business as usual’.

Beyond its structural work, HOK Sport Venue Event , as part of HOK Sports Facilities, is mainly known for its interiors, graphics, signage and brand development projects, and has previously designed London’s Wembley and Emirates stadiums.
