British consortium works on Bahrain airshow
The ArenaLea partnership, formed by event specialist Arena Group and exhibition design consultancy Lea International, is working on a £17m contract to design and build a permanent site for a Middle East airshow.
The contract covers all buildings and interiors for the inaugural Bahrain Airshow in 2010, as well as the 2012 and 2014 events.
The buildings – including 50 business chalets, a two-storey VIP suite, a media centre and restaurants – are being manufactured in the UK and airlifted to the Sakhir airbase site in Bahrain.
The partnership was awarded the contract by joint clients Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs and Farnborough International following an international five-month tender process in which eight bidders were shortlisted.
The ArenaLea partners now plan to establish a Bahrain office.
