Design Triangle in Swiss rail work
Cambridge-based consultancy Design Triangle is working on the redesign of interiors for the Swiss national railway company.
The consultancy was appointed by client SBB-CCF-FFS in June, after seeing off two German consultancies in a three-way pitch, according to Design Triangle’s Siep Wijsenbeek.
Design Triangle has now been tasked with redesigning, modernising and standardising SBB’s current and future range of train interiors, in a four-to-five year contract.
The existing selection of 24 upholstery and colour schemes will be pared down to just two – one for first-class and one for second-class carriages.
Wijsenbeek says, ‘SBB has never managed to get its interiors in line with its exteriors, and that is what we will be aiming to do.’
