The consultancy, which is retained on a BBC roster, will follow a brief to design a set that ‘complements the programme’s content and live action’.
For the show, hosted at the Sheffield Arena, Innovision will create a main stage, pre- and post-show hospitality and VIP arrival areas.
The set will be integrated with seating for 10 000, and an audience of 10 million is expected to watch the event when it is screened live on 13 December.
‘We’ll have to work closely with producers from the BBC,’ says Richard McHardy, Innovision business development director. The consultancy will work on production design strategy and on-screen content with senior programme makers.
Innovision, which is an events specialist consultancy, will design and implement the set, considering health and safety planning and elements of technical production.
