The annual will be available both as a limited-edition members’ book and as a general release, to be published by Taschen in mid-November.
Bob & Roberta Smith has art-directed the book and produced original artworks, while Immprint has designed the book. Templates and grid design have been produced by Jeremy Leslie of Magculture.
Paul Brazier, outgoing president of D&AD, says, ‘The opportunity to choose who designs the annual is one of the great privileges of being president. I must admit I’ve always held a secret ambition to design the book myself, but I think Bob & Roberta Smith will bring a unique “outsider’s” eye to this year’s annual.’
The book features more than 500 works, shortlisted from the more than 20 000 that were submitted as part of the D&AD Awards.
Peter Saville designed last year’s members’ annual, while Jeremy Leslie worked on the Taschen version.
