Eddie Opara joins Pentagram as New York partner

British-born Eddie Opara is joining Pentagram’s New York office as partner and is bringing his team from Map Office, the consultancy he founded in 2005.

Born in London, Opara was educated at the London College of Printing and Yale University’s graduate school of graphic design in Connecticut.

Opara has worked in the US since leaving Yale, founding consultancy Map Office. The consultancy has worked on projects including identities for the Harlem Biennale and housing development 80 Metropolitan.

Opara will join Pentagram on 1 October and is the first partner to join the consultancy since Luke Hayman in 2006.
