Over the Rainbow
According to Eva Cassidy, somewhere, over the rainbow, the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.
Let’s hope that’s the case for charity Reclaim, which has had a rather nightmarish couple of months.
Reclaim, which provides work within the recycling industry for adults with learning difficulties, was the victim of a huge fire that destroyed its premises.
This meant that the 25 service users who usually meet on site everyday to sort and recycle plastic and learn life-skills have lost their work place and activity centre, which was used to hold socials and meetings.
To raise funds for the site’s regenerations, the charity is organising an exhibition and silent auction, entitled Over The Rainbow. All profits will go to the charity.
Seven international artists have donated works for the occasion, and the exhibition will include artworks specially created by Reclaim service users.
Among the artists participating in the show are Kid Acne, Ana Castillo, Jonathan Wilkinson and Florence Blanchard , who is also creating some bright on-site paintings at Reclaim.
