SomeOne expresses “the tingle” in new mobile banking brand

SomeOne has created the identity for new mobile payment service Zapp, aiming to create “a graphic representation of the feeling you get when things just work… the ‘Tingle’.”

Zapp is being set up by payments company VocaLink, and aims to enable real-time payments on people’s mobile phones through their existing mobile banking apps.

SomeOne says it wanted to express the idea that the new service is “easier and faster” and “breaking free from the ways that we know today”.

It created a graphic device that can be used on the main Zapp identity as well as elsewhere in branding and communications.

SomeOne design director Karl Randall says: “The development of a ‘Brand World’ with the ‘Tingle’ effect at its heart, has meant that all of our communications and branded moments feel coherent, connected and relevant, without simply putting a logo on everything – the true test of a digital brand that is pushing the boundaries of mobile payment”.

The consultancy has worked alongside SomeOne/Else, which is developing the UI and product delivery, and VCCP which is creating advertising and communications.
