Jack Morton Worldwide creates New Year’s Eve London fireworks

Jack Morton Worldwide is creating the fireworks display to mark midnight on New Year’s Eve in central London.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Jack Morton Worldwide has worked on the event. It is estimated that more than 200 000 people will line the banks of the Thames to watch the display and millions of television viewers will watch when it is broadcast live on the BBC.

This is the first year that the event will be accompanied by music, with Radio 1 DJ Nihal creating a soundtrack for the fireworks.

Jim Donald, executive producer of Jack Morton Worldwide, says, ‘Each year our goal is to exceed expectations, reaching beyond the experience of the previous year to surprise and delight our audience. We are very excited to add to the sensory experience with the addition of a musical dimension and look forward to thrilling the crowds once more with a spectacular experience that is unique to London.’

Daniel Ritterband, director of marketing in the Mayor’s Office, says, ‘In these competitive times, it is essential that we continue to find ways to promote London internationally. As well as being an important event for Londoners, the New Year’s Eve fireworks are a celebratory expression of the best that London has to offer, communicating a strong message around the world, enhancing its reputation as a dynamic and creative city.’

Jack Morton Worldwide works on the event with groups including the Greater London Authority, the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London.
