Jon Barraclough redesigns Liverpool networking site

Jon Barraclough has worked on the redesign of Kin2Kin, a networking website for Liverpool’s creative community.

The site, which launched in 2006, is operated by Merseyside Acme as part of economic development company Liverpool Vision and currently has more than 4000 members.

Barraclough has been working on the site redesign for the past two months, according to Liverpool Vision marketing officer Ian Hughes. Hughes says the aim of the redesign is to give the site ‘better functionality’ and make it ‘more user-friendly’.

The redesigned site, which will go live on 23 February, will give members the chance to showcase their work to non-members.

Liverpool Vision says it will also feature an enhanced news feed and improved functionality, allowing members the option of uploading their own material.

Kevin McManus, director of Merseyside Acme, says, ‘There’s never been a more important time for making new contacts and keeping in touch with fellow creatives and business contemporaries and this new site is designed to help with that process.’

Liverpool Vision says a new website – Creative Opportunities, which will be a free online recruitment tool designed for students and graduates in the city – is also set to launch, with design by Smiling Wolf.
