Lewis Moberly and JHP collaborate in Mexico

UK consultancies Lewis Moberly and JHP have been appointed as design partners for El Puerto de Liverpool department store chain in Mexico.

Lewis Moberly won a competitive five-way strategy pitch for the work against other international consultancies in September.

It then selected JHP as partner for the retail design, and the client formally approved the partnership about six weeks ago. Both have already started work on the project.

Steve Collis, managing director of JHP, says its side of the project involves retail design to ’bring the experience alive’, while Lewis Moberly will be working on the branding for the store.

Lewis Moberly creative director Mary Lewis says, ’We share clients, such as Waitrose – we both have an understanding of working with premium clients.’

Collis says, ’The fit seemed perfect. It’s a great company and a pleasure to be working with them.’

The retail project will be creatively driven from the London offices of both consultancies, but a team will visit Mexico City regularly to work closely with the El Puerto de Liverpool store design team.

Lewis adds, ’This is a very exciting branding opportunity for us in Mexico.’

Collis says that is it hoped the project will be complete by the third quarter of 2011.
