Mark to rebrand Gazprom retail energy brand

Manchester-based consultancy Mark Studio has been appointed to rebrand global energy supplier Gazprom Marketing & Trading Retail.

GMTR, a subsidiary of Russian energy giant the Gazprom Group, is a UK-based operation that currently sells gas and power to commercial and industrial clients across the UK, France and Ireland.

GMTR is aiming to develop a new brand identity which it says will ’present a fresh and contemporary image to existing and new customers’.

Mark was appointed earlier this month following a tender process that initially involved eight consultancies and came down to a two-way paid creative pitch. Mark has been tasked with working up a new name, visual identity and collateral for the brand.

Simon Garcia, head of communications at Gazprom, says, ’When choosing a creative agency to undertake the rebrand of our global retail business, we were looking for a company that would be a long-term partner to our business, be intelligent and striking in their creative approach. I firmly believe that Mark is that partner.’

Mark creative director Mark Lester says,’This is a very exciting opportunity to help one of the energy sector’s most powerful global players develop a strong brand presence and help them cut through the clutter. Needless to say, we’re chuffed.’

The new branding is set to launch at the Energy Event at Birmingham NEC in September.
