Matthew Fairweather works on NHS prison campaign

Bristol-based consultancy Matthew Fairweather has created a poster campaign for the NHS, targeting prisons in a bid to educate inmates on improvements to their health services within the prison system.

Appointed on credentials following a recommendation, the consultancy was tasked by Wiltshire NHS Trust with making a poster that would ‘communicate to prisoners improvements to health and wellbeing’, says founder Matthew Fairweather.

The poster has been instructed by a dialogue between the trust and inmates, according to Fairweather, who says, ‘It’s to communicate to prisoners that their concerns – like drugs in prison, or not being able to exercise – are being addressed.’

Key to the task was creating something that would stand out on crowded noticeboards and be understood by people with poor literacy skills, Fairweather adds.

‘It’s a simple, typographic-based poster with a blue-and-white colour palette, referencing the NHS colours,’ he says.

If the ’You Said. We Did’ campaign is successful, it will be rolled out to other trusts with posters reflecting health problems in each locality.
