Moira Gemmill and Gwyn Miles among RIBA honorary fellows
Moira Gemmill, director of projects, design and estate at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and Gwyn Miles, director of Somerset House Trust, are among 12 recipients of honorary fellowships from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Landscape designers Andrew Grant and Dan Pearson also receive fellowships.
The other recipients are: Clive Birch, architecture and project manager; Lucy Bullivant, architecture curator, author and critic; Tony Chapman, filmmaker, writer and RIBA head of awards; Mike Gazzard, director of the British Homes Awards; James Lovelock, scientist and environmentalist; Chris Twinn, environment services engineer; Culture Secretary Ed Vaizey; and architectural historian Dr Susan Weber.
RIBA president Ruth Reed says, ‘Each of our 2011 honorary fellows has done much for architecture, whether as a practitioner, curator, commentator or policy-maker.’
The fellowships will be presented at a ceremony on 10 February 2011.
