New creative apprenticeships scheme for Wales

Creative & Cultural Skills is launching a new programme of creative apprenticeships in Wales

The programme, which launches today at the Wales Millennium Centre, will provide more than 50 apprenticeship places in the creative and cultural sectors to young people in Wales.

The new programme has been made possible following Government investment of more than £500 000, as well as funding from the European Social Fund and the Sector Priority Funding Pilot.

Former and current apprentices will speak about their experiences at the launch, and discuss how they learn and what they aim to achieve on completing their studies.

The launch will also include speeches from Welsh Assembly Government Deputy Minister for Science, Innovation and Skills Lesley Griffiths, CCS chairman David Worthington, Arts Council Wales chief executive Nick Capaldi and CCS Wales director Simon Dancey.
