New director for Cologne furniture fair

Frank Haubold has been appointed as director of the furniture fair IMM Cologne, which is run alongside trade fair Living Kitchen by Koelnmesse GMBH.

Haubold has worked for Koelnmesse for five years and is currently product manager of Interzum, a trade fair for suppliers for furniture production and interiors. He will retain this role alongside his new role as director.

The appointment comes as Koelnmesse restructures its management organisation to develop further events.

Dutch designer Dick Spierenburg has been appointed as long-term creative director of the company to help Koelnmesse create and develop new presentation formats and events, especially in the field of design.

Both Haubold and Spierenburg will be answerable to Koelnmesse chief executive Gerald Böse, who joined the company in 2008.

Böse says, ‘I am convinced that, with the new organisation centered round Haubold, we will greatly enhance our appeal and customer friendliness, and be able to consolidate our position as the world’s leading platform for the furniture, interior design and supplier industries.’
