A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

SNOG Soho photo Kerim Mehmet
 

Carri Munden of design label Cassette Playa has collaborated with SNOG Frozen Yogurt create a series of graphics for the brand’s Soho branch, marking gay equality charity Stonewall’s 25th anniversary this year. The graphics are shown on an in-store installation, staff t-shirts, yogurt tubs, an as part of a SNOG sticker app. All proceeds from sales of SNOG rainbow serve yogurt will be donated to Stonewall. The graphics will be in place throughout the summer.

David Rockwell has designed the interiors for New York restaurant Gato. The space uses bold colours, industrial finishes and reclaimed materials. Fittings include trapezoidal burnt orange light fixtures; while the flooring for the bar and main dining room is a bespoke, Mediterranean-inspired cement hex tile in dark blue, white and terracotta colours.

Branston's relish
 

Parker Williams has designed new packaging for Branston’s relish. The redesigned packs are based around the ‘Make it Special’ message, and use new product photography. The designs are also used on packs for five new flavor variants.

Motion graphics agency FullScream has created the opening sequence for new series TopDJ – an X Factor-style show for DJs. You can view it here.

Kallo
 

Big Fish has designed the packaging for a new range of Kallo rice cake flavours, includeing Buckwheat super-seeds and Fruity Muesli & Yogurt thins variants. The consultancy rebranded Kallo last year.

Poundshop is opening a new pop-up value design store in St Petersburg, Russia, andis looking for submissions from designers creating ‘new, interesting low cost products’, it says. The Russian outpost has been formed from a collaboration with department store Au Pont Rouge. For more information visit the Poundshop website www.thepoundshop.org

 Aark Design and White Rabbit have created the website A Few Good Women, a new initiative that supports women’s causes and sells curated products from site members that share the ethics of the site. White Rabbit created the site, while Aark designed the branding for the initiative, which features a Social Network, Business Directory, Shop and Magazine. A proportion of profits made from the site are given to causes nominated by members.

 

Agency Core Apple
 

Consultancy Langarth has designed the branding and website for new creative agency tool Agency Core. The logo is formed as an apple-like graphic, to reference the ‘core’ of the service’s name; and also as a nod to the fact ‘a lot of industry uses macs’, says the consultancy. A red and green colour palette was chosen to reference the colours of apples and also to highlight the idea of Agency Core as a measure of performance, using traffic light colours.
