A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

 

Aurelio
 

Karmarama creatives have launched and designed the look and feel for Two Fingers Brewing Co, which raises funds for charity Prostate Cancer UK. the first beer to go on sale is Aurelio, with bottles bearing the Two Fingers Brewing Co logo of a hand pointing with two fingers.

Livity has created a campaign for children and young people’s wellbeing and mental health charity, YoungMinds. The ‘YoungMinds Vs’ campaign aims to tackle issues such as bullying, sexual pressure and school stress.

Stan Smith pop-up
 

Consultancy innovate7 has worked with Adidas to design a Stan Smith pop-up at London’s Boxpark mall. The giant shoebox-like structure features an interactive floor that lets customers control a 3D-effect digital graphic as they walk through the entrance of the shoebox, and a wall installation comprising 120 Stan Smith shoes.

Thames Hospice logo
 

Silk Pearce has rebranded Thames Hospice, renaming the organisation from Thames Hospicecare. The new visual identity is centred on a logo in a cursive font, adapted and hand-drawn by Peter Horridge. The logo is either used alone or with the new tagline ‘Expert care, everyday kindness’. 

Jack Anderson, Hornall Anderson co-founder and chief executive, is taking on the role of chairman, and has promoted president of operations, John Anicker, to president and chief executive for the consultancy’s Seattle office.

Big Fit System
 

Disney illustrator Stephen Millingen has created the imagery for sports company Hi-Tec Sports’ new Big-Fit System, volume adjusting technology which ‘allows its kids’ shoes to grow with its wearers’, according to the brand. The campaign is centred on The Evergrowing Monster character.

IC Design has created the brochures for The Chelsea Oasis 2014 – an RHS Chelsea Flower Show corporate hospitality programme hosted by Fortnum & Mason events. The designs feature a floral watercolour image.

Barney and Taylor
 

Manchester-based consultancy Ahoy has created a new identity for leather jacket designesr Barney & Taylor.  The new logo depicts an ampersand encompassing a bee and scissors.

Applications are being accepted for The Design Guild Mark, which rewards excellence in the design of furniture in volume production. The deadline is 19 February, and more information can be found here

Adoption services
 

ORB has created a new identity for the Birmingham Adoption & Fostering service, creating a look that aims to ‘dispel the myths behind adopting, breaking down barriers and promote the core message of Making Lives Better’, according to the consultancy.  ORB also created a new responsive campaign website adoptionbirmingham.co.uk.

Northbank
 

Northbank has designed a typographic-led book of Italian proverbs to celebrate  15 years in business. The book plays on consultancy co-founder Maria Bez’s Italian upbringing.

Household has appointed Paul West as creative strategy director. He joins from Imagination, where he was creative director.

Soreen
 

Consultancies Sunny Thinking and Scribble have designed a book for malt-loaf brand Soreen, celebrating its 75th anniversary. The cookery book features a bright yellow cover and a ‘warm, friendly tone’, according to Sunny Thinking.

London-based consultancy Playgroup has opened a new office in Lymington, on the south coast, aiming to better service its clients in the area.

Absolut Karnival
 

Brazilian graphic novel artist and writer Rafael Grampá has designed the bottle artwork for vodka brand Absolut’s new Absolut Karnival variant, which aims to ‘capture the transformative energy of Brazilian Carnival’, according to the brand. Characters on the illustration include a dog dressed as a rooster and  a blue-faced giant.

Lydia Thornley Design has rebranded Voluntary Sector Training, an Essex-based organisation that provides training in a number of different silks including governance, IT and fundraising. The new logo features ‘growing’ sets of colour blocks and a warm colour palette, says the consultancy.
