A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

 

Knorr instant soups
 

Consultancy R Design has created the packaging for Knorr’s new Soupissime Instant range of concentrate soup pastes. The packs use a clear window to show the product to customers, with illustrations of ingredients used in recipes.

Designer Adam Pobiak has created 108 silkscreen-printed posters for Peugeot to mark the launch of the Peugeot 108. The design is inspired by the personalisation options available on the model, according to Peugeot. You can watch a video about the making of the prints here.

American pop-artist Burton Morris has worked with Ford to design a series of prints showing reinterpretations of the brand’s Mustang pony emblem. Each piece depicts the pony in the colours of the flag of one of ten different countries. The print series celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang as it becomes available in the UK and more than 120 other countries around the world.

Belgrave logo
 

Designhouse has created the branding for The Belgrave, a luxury townhouse hotel in Belgravia, London. The new branding uses  “a simple typographic identity, with a strong colour palette, that mimics the detailing of the Georgian ionic columns and the architecture of the beautiful buildings”, says the consultancy.   The Belgrave has recently undergone a year-long £3.5 million refurbishment.

The Partners’ New York office has launched the Culture Shots concept, which the consultancy says looks to “give New Yorkers a shot of culture…along with their daily cup of Joe”. The initiative marks International Coffee Day by providing a number of cafes in the Soho district with coffee cups marked with text about one of 28 selected New York “cultural highlights”.

Furniture Village logo redesign
 

Lythgoe has redesigned the Furniture Village logo. The new design retains the previous logo’s colour palette but tweaks the typography, aiming for and overall look and feel that’s more “contemporary”, according to the consultancy.

Fiasco Design has appointed Mike Bennett as non-executive director. Bennett co-founded digital marketing agency e3 in 1997.

Fourpure logo
 

Consultancy Mr B & Friends has created the identity for south London-based craft brewery Fourpure. The consultancy was responsible for the naming, tone-of-voice, online platforms and visual identity, creating a look inspired by the “worldwide adventures” of Fourpure’s founder, says Mr B & Friends.

Retail design consultancy Green Room has opened a new studio in Amsterdam. The studio has been set-up by partner Fraser Warren and creative director Paul Silcox, who both joined from Design Bridge Amsterdam.

Lippincott has appointed Ian Wood, former Landor Associate global strategy officer, as senior partner at its London office.

Ryder Cup
 

Surrey-based consultancy Up Creative Consultants has designed a Ryder Cup Coin Cover for Royal Mail. The limited edition Medal Cover marks that this year’s tournament takes place at Gleneagles “and as an acknowledgement to the country that invented the game [golf]”, according to the consultancy. The release explores the history of the Ryder Cup and lists the previous winners and scores.

Tesco cereals.
 

P&W International Design Consultants has re-designed the Tesco kids cereals range. The range comprises 21 skus, with designs aiming to “embody a sense of fun and adventure”, says the consultancy. It says: “Building on the legacy of the Olympics, P&W have invented the Brekkie Squad – eight sporty animals who reside in Brekkie Parc, a land made up of different sporting locations, from the White Water Rapids to the Breakfast Parc Olympic Arena.”

B & H Buildings
 

British brasserie and bar B & H Buildings has opened in London, with interiors by Box 9 and Red Deer architects and branding and graphics created by the establishment’s founder’s wife, fashion photographer Anya Holdstock.

Saelen
 

French consultancy BrandBrothers has created a new identity for European woodchip manufacturer Saeleen. The new look uses bespoke typography and a grey and yellow colour palette.

Manchester-based interior and branding consultancy NoChintz has promoted Leanne Wookey, to the board of directors and promoted Amy Brown to associate director.

New global bottle Grolsch
 

Cartils has designed new bottles for Grolsch, using a shape inspired by the brand’s swingtip device. According to the consultancy, “the redesign of the bottle is now seen as the brother of the Swingtop and not as a distant relative.”

Constulancy Flocker has designed a new website for a collabroation between WeTransfer and Stephen Fry, with the filesharing service’s in-house team creating bespoke video wallpaper. The site acts as a “digital storytelling project” where individuals and communities can produce their own interpretations of words from Stephen Fry’s memoirs, More Fool Me and The Fry Chronicles. The cover was designed in house by Penguin UK’s deputy art director, Lee Motley.

Manchester-based consultancy Refinery has created a new identity for Fair To Nature – an organisation that works with blue-chip companies “to promote and recognise those who are leading the way in nature-friendly food production”.

Champagne brand Veuve Clicquot has opened the call for entries for its  Re-Creation Awards – inviting people to design their Veuve Clicquot Mailbox with the winning design becoming the 2015 limited edition, distributed worldwide and revealed at Milan Design Week.
