Northumbria University in RSA design tie-up

Northumbria University’s School of Design is launching a partnership with the North East Regional Network of the Royal Society of Arts that will aim to set up projects to tackle social issues.

The university says the collaboration will aim to develop projects to tackle issues such as health and wellbeing, ageing, education and social justice.

A spokeswoman for the university says the collaboration has come about through existing links between the RSA and the university. She adds that it is hoped that the initiative, which will be ongoing, will allow the RSA to suggest joint projects linked to the study which both organisations would work on.

A launch event will be held today, at which it is hoped partnerships can be developed and projects planned.

The launch will also see the opening of an exhibition of interactive graphics by Northumbria design students entitled Fear – Free Experimentation Aids Revelation. The project will run in the exhibition space at the school of design until 11 February.
