Q&A and Four-letter Word work on Vertigo Lounge

Q&A Interior Design has created the identity for new Hornchurch café and bar Vertigo Lounge, with branding by Four-letter Word.

Both consultancies were appointed at the beginning of the year, following a credentials-led pitch.

The brief for the interiors project was to create a premium space that would be the place to go in Hornchurch, Greater London, says Q&A director Stephen Quiddington.

The café and bar, which is due to open at the end of May, is set on three levels, each with a different feel. The ground floor is a smart restaurant, the first floor is less formal and the top floor, with its roof terrace, blurs the distinction between indoor and outdoor dining, says Quiddington.

The identity, created by Four-letter Word, aims to mimic the restaurant’s multi-level layout.

Four-letter Word creative director Peter Ward says, ‘The element of discovery is mirrored in the interior design as you are encouraged to move up and explore the space via an open staircase.’

Four-letter Word is also working on the website, promotional materials, menus and a sign for Vertigo Lounge.
