Spring cuts a dash with branding for new bespoke London tailor Shipton White

Suffolk-based consultancy Spring has created the branding for start-up tailor Shipton White.

London-based Shipton White has been set up by tailor James Shipton and jeweller Bobby White, and will offer bespoke suits and accessories priced from £1000 to £75 000.

Spring was appointed to the project at the beginning of the year, having previously worked with one of the new company’s financial backers, according to managing director Erika Clegg.

The consultancy says the brand identity aims to communicate Shipton White’s ’high quality and style’. The logo uses a clean sans serif font with a traditional silvermark stamp linking the Shipton and White title.

Spring also considered the names Urban Dandy and Argent Babylon

Clegg says, ’We wanted the identity to communicate quality and heritage. The idea was not to scare off potential customers from the professions, but also to make it appealing to new customers such as those in the media.’

She adds, ’Having London in the identity is a very important statement and orange is a colour linked to luxury, used by brands such as Hermes.’

The identity is set to roll out this month.
