The Noble Union works on English/Arabic app for Saudi telecoms company STC

Digital consultancy The Noble Union is working on an iPhone and iPad app for Saudi Arabian telecoms company STC.

The consultancy is developing an app that will be in both English and Arabic and will allow users to manage their mobile, landline and broadband accounts through their iPhone or iPad.

The Noble Union was appointed directly to the work at the end of last year, according to creative director Ryan Shelton.

Shelton says the app will allow users to see their spend, manage their service and sign up to add-on services. He says there is also a plan for the app to monitor customers’ usage, so that STC could recommend cheaper contracts or packages if the customer is not using all their allowance.

The consultancy is currently studying competitor apps and working up designs for the project. Shelton says, ’We want to produce something simple and easy to use. In the Saudi market they tend to like bright colours, whereas in Europe things tend to be a bit more subdued.’

Shelton adds, ’With the iPad version there will be a bigger screen and more real visual estate.’

He says the consultancy is looking at options such as making the calendar central to the app and developing a printed-style look for bills.

The app is set to launch in the next two months.
