The Dubai Lynx awards focus on advertising in the Middle East and North Africa and are part of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Cannes Lions is this year launching Creative Effectiveness Awards, which merit design.
The deadline for entries to the Design Lynx Awards is 24 February and the winners will be announced on 30 March. The full design jury will be announced by the beginning of next month.
The design category will cover fields including corporate identity, packaging and environmental design.
Steve Lane, Dubai Lynx festival director, says, ‘Design is a fundamental element in advertising and is at the heart of consumer engagement, so it’s appropriate that we should include design to sit alongside all the other categories currently judged and awarded.’
Fitch says, ‘Since design is at the heart of all creative work, I’m naturally delighted that it is now an integral part of the Dubai Lynx Festival.’
