We don’t just choke the chicken at Aardman

I thoroughly enjoyed the article Chicken Coup (DW 19 May), but just wanted to let you know you’ve ruffled a few feathers round here.

You said: “The Dreamworks deal means that the commercial pressure – the marketing, the merchandising, the media circus – is taken off Aardman’s hands, so the creatives can stay focused.”

This could not be further from the truth – we have an eight-strong licensing team within Aardman which has spent the past two years developing a broad range of Chicken Run merchandise for retail both in the UK and overseas, as well as managing the continuing global merchandising campaigns for Wallace and Gromit, Angry Kid, Rex the Runt, Morph, Creature Comforts and all the others…

Although we’ve got pretty hard shells round here, your comments were no yolk!
