Gasping for air over copycat behaviour

It leaves me gasping for air, like a fish out of water, that Wolff Olins can be so crass as to use Michael Wolff’s well recognised goldfish for Addison as the symbol for the British Gas card.

Dishonest, perhaps, and with the well-documented row in 1994 over the Sainsbury’s look-alike cola can still in every designer’s mind, it seems remarkably stupid of a seemingly sophisticated design organisation to allow this to happen.

Almost as stupid as RSCG Conran who wrote to me this week to let me know that they intend to change their name to Conran Design Group.

But perhaps this is just the sincerest form of flattery?
