Wagstaffs appoints Anderson

Wagstaffs has appointed Clare Anderson as its new managing director, and Steve Puxley, who held the position, has become chairman. The move is part of Puxley’s push to take the brand consultancy forward.

Anderson, a Design Business Association board member, joins from running her own marketing consultancy. She left Lambie-Nairn in May when her four-month contract expired, and was previously head of planning at Pearlfisher and Design Bridge.

“I want to look at the infrastructure and at how departments relate to each other. This is an interesting time for Wagstaffs,” Anderson says.

Steve Puxley was made managing director two and a half years ago, before which he was joint deputy managing director with Jonathan Shaw.

“It is time to evolve the Wagstaffs brand and move it forward,” says Puxley. “Appointing Clare is the first step… I will have the opportunity to explore and develop long-term strategies.”

Puxley cannot be specific on whether Wagstaffs will acquire, link up with, or grow new businesses organically. He says the consultancy will be “very different” this time next year.
