The publication of design writer Max Fraser’s London Design Guide will be accompanied by an exhibition at this year’s London Design Festival.
The LDG, which will be published in September, will be the first in an annual series of books which will highlight the best design in the capital, and include key design shops, galleries and institutions.
Fraser says, ‘If you’re into design it will show you the places to buy it and the places to go and learn about it.’
This year’s edition will be self-published by Fraser and designed by Richard Ardagh of Elephants’ Graveyard.
The guide will also identify ‘design tribes’ – groupings of designers working in the city with similar philosophies, such as digitalists and revivalists.
An exhibition studying these design tribes will be held across five locations in the capital as part of London Design Festival.
