Hero remodels Scotch-type ale

HERO CREATIVE has produced the font designs for a new British draft ale to be launched in Italy.

Excalibur Scotch Ale, a powerful 8.5 per cent alcohol by volume, is made by Oxfordshire brewer Morland, which is looking to build on the success of its Old Speckled Hen brand.

Hero creative director Mike Skidmore says the client wanted the nationality of the brand to be clearly recognisable.

“It is important to stand out in a saturated market like draft beer, so that the heritage and values associated with British beer shine through,” he says. Hero will also be producing a similar identity design for sister brand Excalibur Lager.
