Savvy male consumers in their early 20s are the target group for Sony’s new music gaming experience, DJ: Decks & FX, designed by Manchester design group Bubble Media.
The game, which features two virtual decks and record players, allows consumers to play at being a DJ.
Bubble was commissioned to design the game’s full brand identity, including the pack design, video intro, T-shirt, brand guide and multilingual website for 22 countries.
Bubble also developed an on-line guide, which features a video tutorial on the basic techniques of DJing and includes information on courses, labels and artists. Covering traditional methods of DJing using decks and vinyl as well as DJ:DFX, the on-line guide was shot and edited in-house.
Bubble clinched the project on the merit of previous work, together with its knowledge of the music and DJ scene.
Bubble director Liz Birkbeck describes it as an extensive nine-month project that brought together the company’s different fields of expertise.
