New format for Debenhams

Retail giant Debenhams has confirmed its plans to trial a new ‘mini’ store format, aimed at female customers, in Spring next year.

The new mini-Debenhams store format, ranging in size from 1400m2 to 1900m2, will sell womenswear, lingerie, cosmetics, shoes and accessories. The format is set to hand the retailer access to smaller UK towns, where full-scale department stores are not feasible.

Debenhams’ head of visual and creative Mark Woods was unavailable to confirm industry speculation that the retailer has taken its entire design in-house, following a £1.7bn deal last December that took the company private.
