LPK joins with Unihop to take on Asian market

US brand consultancy Libby Perszyk Kathman has formed a partnership with Japanese design group Unihop, based in Osaka, in a bid to enable both groups to provide a better level of service to clients in Asia.

The two consultancies will focus their attention initially on their major joint client in the region, international conglomerate Procter & Gamble. At first, the group will concentrate in particular on P&G’s Baby Care division.

‘We are very impressed with Unihop. Its talent and passion for great creative [work] is a source of strength for the consultancy. The enthusiasm of its staff for this partnership is infectious,’ says LPK president and chief executive officer Jerry Kathman.

LPK, based in Cincinnati, has worked for a number of global clients in the region, including computer giants Microsoft and IBM. The consultancy has also carried out design work for a number of domestic Japanese consumer brands, including developing branding for Duomilia cosmetics and the Certina adult incontinence products brand.

‘Mutual growth’ projects for the two consultancies are now planned on an international basis.
