CLK.MPL employees all own private parts

I have one small gripe concerning the otherwise superb edition devoted to DW’s Top 100 league tables (DW 31 March).

CLK.MPL was formed three years ago by the merger of CLK and Michael Peters Limited as a management buy-out from the Princedale Group. As we ranked 11th in this year’s Top 100 table, we were disappointed not to make it into the privately owned category. For, while we are backed by 3i and the Bank of Scotland, the majority of our shares are owned by our staff.

Indeed, either through personal investment or our employee trust fund, all 135 staff, from Chris, our chief executive officer to Gillian, our tea lady, is a part-owner of our business. This arguably makes us the most privately owned design group in the country.
