Daniel Weil minted new Boots facia

The mint green-coloured facia currently being trialled by Boots the Chemist in its Notting Hill branch (DW 7 February) was developed by Pentagram partner Daniel Weil, and not in-house as Boots claimed last week.

The facia was developed to be adaptable to buildings of different architectural styles, says Weil. It introduces a softer colour palette in an attempt to move the chain more firmly into the health and beauty market.

Weil was first appointed by Boots in September last year, when a considerable amount of groundwork had already been carried out internally. He is still retained by the retailer as a consultant. Boots intends to introduce the design to a further seven of its stores this year.
