Design Week Awards judging panel revealed

Find out who will be on the judging panel this year and check out the new Sonic Identities category, which we’ve just added.

We are excited to reveal the first wave of judges who will form part of the independent panel for the Design Week Awards 2022.

Judges have been chosen for their particular expertise so we can assess entries accurately in each category.

Vault49 co-founder John Glasgow

In the Communications section we have design leaders including Koto founder James Greenfield Vault 49 co-founder John Glasgow, Design Bridge chief creative officer Emma Follett, and Collins design director Megan Bowker.

In the Communications section you’ll find the Sonic Identities category, which we’ve just added. It covers signature sounds used by a brand or product to communicate its brand values, purpose or function.

Outputs might be sonic identities representing a brand through its communications or sonic identities designed to be familiar cues which form part of a product’s user experience.

Tangerine director Weiwei He

Our products section features Tangerine director Weiwei He, Morrama founder and creative director Jo Barnard and Matter design director John Macdonald who will be joined by more experts in their field shortly.

Bulletproof motion design director Fahud Ahmed

The digital section includes Bulletproof motion design director Fahud Ahmed, AR designer and developer Vivian Galinari, Else partner and chief design officer Dave Dunlop, Ustwo design lead Dominic Fisher.

Event creative director Eithne Owens

Spaces will be overseen by designers including Event creative director Eithne Owens, UXUS creative director Amy Ingrassia and Projects Office director James Christian.

Penguin creative director Tim Lane

We’re also set to be joined by in-house design experts including TfL experience design lead Hanna Kops, Penguin creative director Tim Lane and Barbican digital design manager Claudia Toia.

Let’s Be Brief designer and co-founder Stephanie McLaren-Kneckles

Look out for the Landmark Awards section where categories include Social Design, Service Design and Designing out Covid-19. This year we welcome judges including Let’s Be Brief designer and co-founder Stephanie McLaren-Kneckles, Among Equals founder Emily Jeffrey-Barrett and Little Fox Design founder Emma Fanning.
