Designers talk about the future of London

Southwark Council hosted a new event on Monday to discuss the future of design in London, featuring 100 of the city’s top creative minds.

Design Council business director Harry Rich and Imagination marketing and strategic planning director Ralph Ardill were among the speakers.

Ardill underlined design’s value if used “holistically… make sure it infects the whole business”.

A giant sign on the river wall between the Tate Gallery and Shakespeare’s Globe was also unveiled, spelling out Bankside. Designed by Caruso St John Architects, it will be exposed only at low tide. It will be visible to pedestrians from the new Millennium Bridge.
