Edinburgh architect Reiach and Hall has designed interiors for VinCaffÃ¨, the first cafÃ© and wine bar offering from Scotland’s delicatessen brand Valvona & Crolla.
The two-storey space opens on Edinburgh’s The Walk today, featuring a ground floor wine bar and coffee shop and a first floor restaurant, with private dining room and wine tasting areas.
According to Reiach and Hall design director Neil Gillespie, interiors aim to build on Valvona & Crolla’s 70-year heritage.
‘We were keen to develop the brand’s reputation, not destroy it with a fashionable place. Interiors are a bit more grounded to give the impression they’ve been there a while,’ he explains.
The lower floor is fitted with terrazzo flooring, stainless steel and glass mosaics, while a ‘woody and mellow’ upper level has a walnut floor and walls and leather seating.
