Interbrand UK has bought development group Redwood’s team for an undisclosed sum.

The team of six will be based at Interbrand’s offices in London’s Covent Garden and will be known as the Brand Innovation Division of Interbrand.

Interbrand UK is in “bullish mood” at the moment and is looking to acquire other activities which complement its existing offer, says Interbrand group deputy chairman Tom Blackett.

Redwood founders Pamela Robertson and Chris Cleaver head the new division and join Interbrand UK’s board.

“Many companies pay lip service to the way in which brands develop, but not many accept that strengthening the brand through innovation is fundamental to the future prosperity of their company. That is why Interbrand appeals to us,” says Robertson.

Redwood’s team is bringing its client list, which includes Derwent Valley Foods, KP and several major banks and beer companies, with it. It will start to present to clients jointly with Interbrand very soon.
