Dobney to head up DBA

Lynne Dobney is to succeed Colin Porter as chairman of the Design Business Association in September, when he steps down after two years in the position.

The handover, which will take place at the DBA’s AGM, will coincide with a “relaunch of the DBA”, says Dobney, who is deputy chairman of Interbrand Newell and Sorrell.

Since Dobney joined the DBA board last September she has been responsible for the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards.

“My main platform is effectiveness in design businesses and in their projects for clients,” she says. She is also concerned with making the DBA run more efficiently, forging stronger links with other organisations and improving communications.
