Unspoken volumes

With reference to Fay Sweet’s feature Speaking Volumes (Paper Supplement, DW 25 September), your readers visiting the exhibition galleries at the British Library may like to know of the existence of The Workshop of Words, Sound and Images also on the lower ground floor, next to the Pearson Gallery. This exhibition deals with the history of communication from the first printed material through to digital recording techniques, proving that the British Library is about more than just books.

It is also worth noting that The Workshop of Words, Sound and Images and the John Ritblat Gallery Treasures of the British Library were designed by Ivor Heal Design.
