Conference of the obscure and bizarre

I received today an invitation to Fuse 90: Beyond Typography, a typography conference to be held in San Francisco late, this year. The titles of the lectures are: Scales of Abstraction, Robot, The Tribalism of Geography, Ritual of Resistance, The Luxury of Conflict, Repetitive Strain, Machines: Heritage and Heretic, Baby, Skin Deep, Conjecture, Touch and Stepping into the Dark.

I am baffled, can anyone help?
