UK catering company Compass has announced plans to introduce two successful American brands to its British portfolio.

The group, which owns Upper Crust sandwich bars, Not Just Donuts and Stop Gap, currently operates in 25 000 non-high street locations across the globe, which include airports, railway stations and corporate bases.

New coffee outlets under US brand Cucina, plus a series of pizza outlets branded as Naples 45, will be introduced to the UK soon, but no sites are allocated yet. The venues will adopt US templates, developed by the group’s in-house design team.

Compass corporate communications director Cathy Lawrence says: “There will probably be one or two of each implemented in the next 12 months, but we won’t be rapidly rolling out in the tens or 20s. There is potential, but it’s not yet been quantified.”
