Amp makes noise for MoS audio products

Amp Associates has created packaging and on-product graphics to support clubbing brand Ministry of Sound’s entry into the audio equipment market, planned for later this summer.

The packaging design is deliberately ‘stripped back’ to create a ‘no-nonsense look’ that promotes the brand and the product, although it may become more sophisticated over time, says Amp Associates creative director Scott Parker.

‘[The design] gives prominence to the brand’s corporate blue colour and the styling suits the bold graphics of [its] album releases,’ he adds.

Amp Associates, a joint venture company with the Ministry of Sound, has created design templates for all the print work for the audio brand. ‘The corporate guidelines have been followed almost to the letter on this occasion,’ comments Parker.

The consultancy has also designed the logo for Ministry of Sound’s ‘MBass’ technology, which is intended to boost sound quality and will be displayed on all the products.

Alba is manufacturing the systems, which range from full-size stereos to personal CD and MP3 players.

The licensing agreement with Alba is Ministry of Sound’s latest brand extension. It already runs its own record label and internet radio stations.
