Ron Arad Associates has designed a flagship showroom for luxury car brand Maserati, located in Modena, Italy and unveiled last week. A core feature of the space is a dramatic ‘acrobatic loop’ which has an upper sweep that serves as a canopy overhanging an ad hoc conference area. A personalisation area of the showroom incorporates car body colour samples and leather swatches, as well as 198 ‘doughnut-like’ samples across one wall (pictured). The showroom’s exit is a curved car port which opens mechanically.
The museum will work with research studio Forensic Architecture on the installation, which is inspired by this year’s theme of “emotional states”.
