London Design Festival launch

The London Design Festival receives a parliamentary launch today, with guest speakers that include Estelle Morris, Minister for the Arts.

The Westminster event has been organised by festival manager William Knight, London consultancy The Team and the Associated Parliamentary Group for Design and Innovation.

‘I think it’s very important to promote the festival to parliamentarians,’ says Knight. ‘The exercise is obviously to raise the profile of the event itself, but [the launch] also enables parliamentarians and champions of design to express their support.’

The festival runs from 20-30 September, with 80 design-related events, created by more than 70 organisations, taking place throughout the capital.
