Standstill; Man and Shapes; Gosport Marina; Invisible Lives: Brazilian Street Girls; Mosaic

Paintings and photography by Angela Towell and Sharon-Louise Aldridge are exhibited at Standstill from 21 August until 1 September.

Venue: Alchemy Gallery, 157 Farringdon Road, London EC1.

Man and Shapes by Anthony Burrill exhibits from 21 August until 29 September. The work on show began as a series of drawings in a self-published book, a selection of these drawings will be shown at the exhibition.

Venue: The Gallery, Pentagram, 11 Needham Road, London W11.

Recent architectural competitions are showcased at the Royal Institute of British Architects during August and September. Gosport Marina, showing from 24 August to 28 September, exhibits entries from an open competition to design a bar, restaurant and captainerie on Portsmouth Harbour.

Invisible Lives: Brazilian Street Girls by Leticia Valverdes is a thought-provoking photographic study of Brazilian street girls, whose lives are spent disguised as boys to avoid sexual abuse. The work is on display until 10 September.

Venue: Proud Galleries, 5 Buckingham Street, London WC2.

Recent work by Candace Bahouth and Cleo Mussi is exhibited at Mosaic from 19 August until 18 September.

Venue: 6 Chapel Row Contemporary Art, off Queen Square, Bath BA1 1HN.
