Hong Kong feels UK music design

A group of seven British graphic designers specialising in the music industry are flying the flag for the UK at a Hong Kong seminar later this month. Consultancies showcasing their work to Hong Kong music artists and consultancies include Red Design, Bark and Undercover Design.

Intro creative director Adrian Shaughnessy and AMX president Malcolm Garrett, who are both attending as ‘pioneers for original graphic design in the music industry’, will be discussing the key changes in British music and how these shape graphic design.

The initiative is spearheaded by the British Council’s Creative Industries division and Government trade support service Trade Partners UK. It follows a touring exhibition on music industry graphic design called Sound Design which took place in Hong Kong last October and November.

‘We want the designers to really make the most of this opportunity. In an ideal world, they will nurture relationships out there with potential clients,’ says British Council creative industries project manager Esther Cunliffe.

The trip is funded by the consultancies and Trade Partners UK.
